In January 2009 the Center and the UW- Madison Retail Club, took 21 student to New York to the Nation Retail Federation Convention.
These students had the opportunity to attend the Nation Retail Federation's "Big Show 2009" Convention in which major companies from the industry from around the world come to set up booths and show what they are working on.
2009 Aspire2Retail AMEX Student Challenge
What is it?
This challenge is open to students in a retail or related major. Students are nominated by their college/university program's Center Director. Unlike most competitions each school will not compete against the other schools. Instead, one student from each of the six schools involved will make up a team, making six teams in all. The six team members at each school will role play a different career perspective and will represent one career area in a presentation to retail judges.
What is your role?
Each career position will have a retail executive from that area of operations in a national retail company who will serve as mentor to the team of six students playing his/her role. Upon solving the challenge, each team will present their solution in a 30 minute presentation to be held via Webex.

2008-2009 Challenge winning team also included Kyle Bender a recent graduate of Retail of UW Madison! Congratulations Kyle!
