New York Fashion Experience

Spend a week in NYC to experience and gain an understanding of important aspects of the fashion industry!

Appointments with apparel designers, wholesalers, retailers and fashion journalists will be supplemented with visits to historical costume collections at the Met and F.I.T. Sourcing the garment district for supplies, touring the F.I.T campus, viewing museums and galleries for inspiration and market researching the many apparel venues are also planned. Discussion and meetings before and during the trip and an oral / written analysis summary upon our return will complete the course objectives.
Course fee includes land package of: 6 nights of hotel accommodations, a ticket to a Broadway who, transfers, entrance fees, and transportation. The course fee for four people sharing a room is between $1110.00 and $1220.00, depending on the total number of students traveling. There will be an additional fee for those requesting 2 or 3 students to a room rather than 4. A $250 deposit in check of money order is due to Design Studies by April 14th, with the remainder to be paid by May 19th.
Seats are reserved on a flight from Madison for our group. After you have committed to taking the course, (possibly even before registraion begins). you will be instructed on how to proceed with the airfare. The rate for the group flight is about $325.00 each. A $125.00 deposit is due immediately to confirm seats and price. You can also book your own flight, on any airline, from any city and arrive at Newark airport to travel together into Manhattan or meet us at the hotel.
