Cynthia R. Jasper is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Consumer Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 2002 she was named the Vaughn Bascom Professor in Women and Philanthropy. She has worked in the area of consumer behavior within the retailing setting. She is also interested in decision-making within family businesses, especially pertaining to retirement and estate planning, and business management issues. In recent years, she has expanded her work to include giving behavior and philanthropy. She has authored research articles that have been published in journals such as the Journal of Consumer Affairs, Journal of the Community Development Society, Journal of Small Business Management, Journal of Advertising Research and The Journal of Direct Marketing. She serves on the editorial board for The Journal of Family and Economic Issues. She teaches courses in Consumer Behavior and Philanthropy.
