Dean Robin A. Douthitt, Dean of the School of Human Ecology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, completed her PhD in Microeconomics at Cornell University and came to Madison in 1986. She was subsequently named Vaughan Bascom Professor and a Vilas Associate in the Social Sciences. She founded the UW-Madison Women’s Faculty Mentoring Program and served on the University of Wisconsin Athletic Board, chairing its Academic Affairs Committee, and representing Wisconsin Faculty to the Big Ten.

Dean Douthitt has earned many accolades. In 2002 she was inducted as a Fellow of the American Council on Consumer Interests. And, in 2000, she received the Cabinet 99 Faculty/Staff Recognition Award from the Wisconsin Alumni Association.

Dean Douthitt manages four departments, three research centers, and a $10-million operating budget. The Human Ecology campus includes three buildings on the UW-Madison campus and one off campus. These facilities include not only classrooms and faculty offices, but also an art gallery, a $3-million historic textile collection, and a preschool research facility.
