The Consumer Science Program offers a Master of Science degree and a Ph.D. degree in Human Ecology: Consumer Behavior and Family Economics. The program explores the ways in which the interactions among consumers, business, and government can enhance the interests and wellbeing of consumers, families, and communities. The Master's and Ph.D. programs build upon department offerings as well as drawing on courses throughout the University.
Recent graduates of our M.S. program have taken senior positions in finance, marketing, and retailing, as well as continuing on to Ph.D. studies at Columbia Business School, the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and our own program in Consumer Behavior and Family Economics.
Recent Ph.D. graduates have placed in tenure-track academic positions, the private sector, and non-profit organizations.
