Research Facilities

Special interests are promoted through close association with campus research centers. These include the Institute for Research on Poverty, the Center for Demography and Ecology, and the Institute on Aging. Collaboration with the women's studies program, programs in health administration, the agricultural and applied economics and economics departments, and the East Asian studies program provides a diverse and well-rounded course of study. The university's Division of Information Technology provides computer labs throughout the campus with up-to-date hardware and software for students' research needs. The school maintains an instructional computer lab for classes involving hands-on computer work. The UW-Madison libraries include nearly 5.9 million volumes, more than 4 million microfilm items, and hundreds of thousands of government documents, maps, and audiovisual materials. Library users can search 30 million citations in journal and information databases.
