After earning a BS
from Lewis Institute, Chicago in 1919 and an MS in clothing from
Iowa State College (now University) in 1924, Marian Juaire worked
as a clothing specialist in the Iowa Extension Service for a year.
She then came to UW, where she taught courses in dress design
and the history of costume for the following thirty-years. When
she retired in 1959, she returned to her birth city of Faribault,
MN and moved into a retirement home that she had planned and built
herself.
