I came to UW-Madison because Madison is a beautiful city with many lakes and great people, and the UW is a famous university. I like Madison a lot. Before I came to the UW, I was working as a professional designer in Korea.

Throughout my childhood years, nothing trilled me more than drawing and playing with fiber. When I am involved with fiber art, I feel enthusiastic and comfortable because fiber is delicate, soft, and sometimes extravagant. Fiber allows me to express simplicity and opulence. Fiber is more unique and magnificent than any other material because of its rich textures and various colors. Fiber is also used in many ways on everyone’s life everyday, such as clothing and other
textiles and interior home and business decoration. I have come to realize fiber and textiles are really significant not only to me but also to everyone’s daily life.

When I took a life drawing class, I found my interest about the human body. I realize the human body is the most beautiful and natural creature. The human body especially represents each person’s characteristics, which is personalities. I also look at the body as a vessel of thoughts
and experiences in psychological and physical side.

I am interested in the movement of the human psyche from the dark places in the mind to places of safety. My main subject is the human body, especially the female nude form, and the lotus. I like to explore human vulnerability and security, and the nude body in different contexts, such as real and surreal space.
