Advising and Course of Study

A graduate course of study is highly individualized, and each student works with a faculty advisor to set up the course of study and serve as the chair of their graduate committee. Students meet with their advisor on a regular basis. A student may take independent study courses with their advisor or other faculty, and may also participate in research projects or collaborations.

Since there is no set course of study, graduate students have flexibility to pursue their own course of study, while on the other hand graduate students must be proactive in setting up their course of study.
