Student Groups:
American Society of Interior Designers
The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is the largest association of professional interior designers in the US and its educational mission includes sponsorship of Student Chapters at institutions offering professional level educational programs. The ASID Student Chapter at UW-Madison is particularly strong and provides students with many opportunities for leadership experiences and learning beyond the classroom. Speaker programs, field trips, and community service efforts are just some of the experiences available to its members. Student Chapter members are welcome at all ASID WI State Chapter events -- a perfect means of building networks with interior design practitioners and opening doors to internship and job opportunities. An annual Career Day event affords students a diverse menu of speakers plus a venue for obtaining feedback on portfolios and interview advice. Student Chapter members are also eligible for ASID scholarships and design competitions offered at both the state and national level.
