3 Books in 3 Years from Professor Riley

"Every early childhood teacher needs this," says the Midwest Book Review about Prof. Dave Riley's latest book, "Intellectual Development: Connecting Science and Practice in Early Childhood Settings" (Redleaf Press, 2009).

Co-authors on the volume include HDFS alums Mary Carns (M.S. 2003), Rob San Juan (Ph.D. 2006), and Mary Roach (Ph.D. 1986).  The book is the latest product of Riley's statewide demonstration project, the Wisconsin Early Childhood Excellence Initiative (www.sohe.wisc.edu/outreach/ece/)

The book is the 2nd in a series.  Riley was also the first author of "Social-Emotional Development: Connecting Science and Practice in Early Childhood Settings" (Redleaf Press, 2008).  In press, and due from the printers this Spring, is a 3rd volume in the series on "Rethinking Nutrition: Connecting Science and Practice in Early Childhood Settings" (Redleaf Press, 2010).  Riley co-authored this latest book, with Prof. Sue Nitzke of the UW-Madison Nutritional Sciences Department as lead author.
