Social Work Certificate (Department of Social Work)

Provide students with the coursework necessary to obtain state certification.
Certification
Students take courses in a variety of departments in order to fulfill the state requirements for social work certification. However, these courses are typically unavailable to students who are not a declared Social Work major. The department recommends that students consider applying for a double major in Social Work if they are interested in obtaining state certification as a social worker.

Requirements
The Department of Social Work accepts a set number of undergraduates into the major each semester. Students must apply for these positions in order to gain acceptance into the major. Coursework for declared Social Work majors includes courses in a variety of departments, and includes field placements or internships. For more specific requirements, reference the Undergraduate Course Catalog or contact the Social Work Department.
