Graduate Admissions to the School of Human Ecology
Graduate admissions is a shared process at UW-Madison. The faculty in the program to which you apply evaluate your application and make a recommendation to the Graduate School regarding admission. The final decision is made by the Graduate School.
To be admitted for graduate study, applicants need to submit the online Graduate School application and fee to the Graduate School. Additionally, supplemental materials need to be sent to the specific academic program of interest. Applicants should refer to both the Graduate School Requirements and to the academic program’s requirements:
- I. The Graduate School sets minimum admissions requirements. There you will find information about grades, undergraduate degrees required, English proficiency requirements, financial information requirements for international students, information about the application process, and the on-line application.
- II. Program admission requirements (see links below) are typically more rigorous than the minimum requirements set by the Graduate School. Supplemental materials, (i.e. academic records, reasons for graduate study, resumes, etc.) required by the academic programs should be sent to the academic program directly.
