Useful Technology Tools

There are many technology tools that can enhance your ability to engage in outreach activities, either on campus, , around the state, or anywhere in the world.

Excellence in Outreach Award

The Outreach Planning Council invites Human Ecology faculty and staff to submit nominations for the Excellence in Outreach Award. Please consider your own outreach work for recognition as well as considering the work done by your colleagues. All faculty and staff with budgeted appointments in the School of Human Ecology are eligible. Outreach activities may represent the efforts of an individual faculty, academic staff, or classified staff member, or a group of these individuals. View the most recent call for nominations flier). See the list of previously awarded Human Ecology and University awards for outreach.

Service Learning

Last year, about one in every eight Human Ecology courses included Service Learning experiences as part of the curriculum. In these courses, the ideas in the books and the experiences in the field are brought together, which benefits both the students and the community.

Meta Schroeder Beckner Homemaker Fund

The Meta Schroeder Beckner Homemaker Fund is a perpetual endowment to the School of Human Ecology. Part of this endowment is used to support Beckner grants, which are administered by the Outreach Planning Council.

Spring Lecture Series

The Outreach Planning Council sponsors a lecture series, with guest presenters generally addressing broad issues in outreach service, research, and learning.
