Southern Child Welfare Training Partnership The Southern Child Welfare Training Partnership (http://southernpartnership.wisc.edu/) is located in University Research Park, 455 Science Drive, Madison. The Partnership began offering training in 1999 to 21 counties in southern Wisconsin. Training includes such topics as legal issues, child safety, abuse, and neglect. A regional steering committee composed of representatives from each county provides leadership. The Wisconsin Training Partnership System (http://wcwts.wisc.edu/) links the regions and develops training for child welfare staff, managers and caregivers. The training is family centered, child focused, culturally responsive and designed to result in competent delivery of child welfare services throughout Wisconsin.
The University Research Park space includes offices for Partnership and Training System staff, areas for preparing training materials, and a lobby and kitchen with an ever-ready coffee pot welcome guests. Across the hall, visitors find classroom space in the UW Partnership Training Center. The total Partnership facilities comprise about 4,000 square feet and include a large multifunction room with videoconferencing and conference rooms.
