         School of Human Ecology

is pleased to announce a new partnership with

the Business Career Center (BCC).

This collaboration will further enhance our connections with employers and offer additional career information and career opportunities. 

SoHE / Business Career Center will provide more comprehensive career development programming, advising and job search assistance.

During the remainder of this semester, all are encouraged to attend a short 30-minute orientation to get access to and register with SoHE / BCC (BuckyNet) and begin the process of career preparation.  No registration required.

Students who have developed a relationship with L&S Career Services can still utilize their services until the end of the Spring 2008 semester.

After registering for BuckyNet and reviewing materials posted on the web-site you can use other services such as walk-in resume critique, or an appointment with an advisor for a mock interview or career advising.

How to use SoHE Career Services

- Attend required SoHE /Business Career Center (BCC) orientation session and register for BuckyNet. (see http://www.bus.wisc.edu/career/student/  for the dates / times of the sessions)

Buckynet is the password-protected, web-based information system used by the Business Career Center (BCC) to manage all aspects of the recruiting program including on-campus recruiting, job postings, student resumes (resume book), and career events.

Thursday, April 17th, 12 – 12:30 pm and Friday, April 18th, 2 – 2:30 pm, room 21 SoHE

- Attend Workshops / Seminars: Business Basics Seminar Series conducted through SoHE/BCC.

Topics include: Resume and Cover Letter Writing; Successful Interviewing; Making the Most of the Career Expo; How to Research a Company; Study Abroad Information Session; Networking Your Way to Success; Career Planning for International Students; Making the Most of Your Internship; International Student Employment Options: H-1B Workshop; etc.

-    Participate in Career Fairs: September and February Career Fairs; Personal Finance Career Fair.

 

-    Participate in employer info sessions and networking events hosted by SoHE /BCC.

- Receive weekly newsletter update “Bucky’s Backpack” after you register for BuckyNet.
