School of Human Ecology Scholarship
Each year, the School of Human Ecology awards need and merit based scholarships on a variety of criteria. These awards are made available to students majoring in programs in the School of Human Ecology and will be considered part of the University of Wisconsin-Madison financial aid awards. Scholarship recipients must be registered as full-time students for the following fall. The scholarship applications are available below.

Selection Process
The School of Human Ecology Scholarship Committee will review applicants, taking into consideration the academic achievement, personal qualifications, career aspirations, and educational plans of each student. The selected candidates will receive final approval from the Dean of the School of Human Ecology. Students will be notified of their scholarship award status by mail approximately six weeks after the February 15 deadline. Scholarship recipients must be registered for the fall semester as a full-time student (12+ credits) following the date of application in order to be eligible to receive their award. Scholarships are generally awarded in one lump sum at the beginning of the fall semester.
Application Procedure
A completed Scholarship Application will include ALL of the following materials:
Applications MUST be typed.
- 2 letters of recommendation
Your letters of recommendation should come from those that can attest to your personal and academic qualifications as well as extracurricular activities, especially those relevant to your major. Letters of recommendation will only by accepted in signed, sealed envelopes. It is preferred that at least one letter be from a faculty member in the School of Human Ecology.
- Unofficial transcript from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Your UW-Madison transcript can be printed via the MyUW Student Center – “Request Student Record”
- Official transcripts from all other colleges/universities you have attended.
These transcripts may be in your file in the SoHE Student Academic Affairs Office. Stop in Room 135 to get a copy.
- Resume
Your resume should include information about your level of education, work experience, achievements and awards, and extracurricular activities.
