Student Chapter of the American Society of Interior Design (ASID)

ASID seeks to promote the development of interior design professionals through mentoring, professional development events, and providing knowledge, opportunities, resources, and connections to the professional world of interior design. ASID also contributes to the understanding of the part of this profession plays in the field of design, our culture, and our economy, as well as the satisfaction it offers as a profession.

American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC)

AATCC is a national organization of dyers and chemists in the textile industry and is designed to promote increased knowledge of the application of dyes and chemicals, encourage research work on chemical processes and materials and establish channels to interchange professional knowledge among members.

Textile & Apparel Student Association (TASA)

TASA seeks to use the design skills obtained in class in the community. This student organization welcomes students interested in pursuing a career in this field. TASA events include the Fashion Show and Meriter Project.

Consumer Science Student Assocation (CSSA)

The Consumer Science Student Association, better known as CSSA, is open to all UW-Madison students. Through professional, social, and volunteering events CSSA helps students come together to build their resumes, prepare for life after college, network with professionals, and to make new friends. CSSA is comprised of mainly Consumer Science and Retailing majors, however we do have members outside of these majors and encourage everyone to join!

Financial Occupations Club for University Students (FOCUS)

FOCUS strives to provide career development for its membership, improve financial literacy on campus, provide counseling and intervention to fellow students and the surrounding community, and to promote the financial planning process.

Retail Club

Retail Club is a professional organization which provides students with an in-depth view of the exciting careers in the retail industry. Retail professionals are invited to campus to share their insights and expertise via informal presentations and special topic seminars. An important network of professional contacts is available through both members and speakers.

HDFS Students for Families and Children

Students for Families and Children serves as resource for undergraduate students to become more involved in the community through volunteer opportunities. Activities focus on meeting the needs of families and children in the Madison area and beyond. Additionally, SFC provides students with a link to other undergraduate students, professors, graduate students, alumni and other individuals in related fields.

Phi Upsilon Omicron (PhiU)

Student Chapter of the Wisconsin Association of Family & Consumer Sciences (WAFCS)

WAFCS is the state arm of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS), one of the oldest professional societies in the United States. Founded in 1909, its purpose is to improve the quality and standards of individual and family life through programs that educate, influence public policy, disseminate information and publish research findings. The student chapter echoes these themes in preparing students to enter the retail field.
